1. She always keeps Old Bear and Laura-Kate, all her life.
2. Beth comes home from her first day of school adamant that she’d like to be a teacher when she grows up. Mostly this is because her teacher wears shoes that go clop-clop-clop down the hallway.
3. When she’s old enough, she starts writing stories. Grand tales, where boys and girls (and animals) go on adventures. When Owen is sick with a cold and ordered to stay in bed, he helps her with illustrations for them. When he gets sleepy, Beth makes up new stories to tell him until they both fall asleep.
